Millenium Hops

Millenium HopsIf you are looking for a high alpha acid bittering hop with hints of herbal tones, then consider using Millenium Hops…

Although this hop has a relatively high oil content making it a possible choice for aroma hop, the levels of certain important oils like myrcene vary too much and is therefore considered more of a bittering hop…

This hop variety is popular among some of your highly bitter Ales, Stouts, or something like a Barleywine.

Here are some of the most important characteristics of this hop variety:

Alpha:Beta Ratio: 2.0
Alpha Acids: 14.5 – 16.5%
Beta Acids:
4.3 – 5.3%
Co-humulone:
28 – 32% of alpha acids

Total Oils: 1.8 – 2.2 mL per 100 grams
Myrcene: 30 – 40% of total oils
Humulene: 23 – 27% of total oils

Millenium hops are bred using Nugget as the mother… so if you are looking for a substitution consider using Nugget hops.
